Eat Well And You Can Stop Your Acne
When you or someone that you love is dealing with acne, it can seem that the problem simply will not go away. If you are taking fairly good care of your skin and being careful not to touch the blemishes with your hands, you may find that it is time for you to look into your diet.
While the old myths that have been around forever about greasy foods and chocolate being bad for the skin are pretty much false, there are some foods that will trigger a breakout. You will need to take a little time to think about your diet and how it may be affecting your acne.
The first thing that you might want to think about is avoiding milk, particularly if you are a teenager. Milk contains certain hormones in them and when you think about the fact that acne is something that is frequently triggered by hormonal changes, it makes sense that you might want to cut back. Milk in a bowl of cereal will probably not give you problems, but try to make sure that you don’t drink more than a glass of milk or so a day.
Another thing that you might want to do to stop acne in its track is putting more fish into your diet. Fish oil and fish are both very good for your skin and has been discovered to help prevent the onset of acne as well. Salmon, tuna, and cod are perfect ways of getting more Omega-3 fats into your diet. You will find plenty of supplements on the market that will really help. Keep in mind that this is one of the fats that are good for your body.
When you are thinking about a good diet to help you fight acne, don’t forget the role that water might play in it. Water will help you flush out your skin while helping your body process both nutrients and toxins more effectively.
Drinking adequate amounts of water is essential to healing your existing blemishes quickly and without any scarring. Take some time to consider how you will be able to move forward and start getting more water in your diet. Many people carry large bottles with them while others stop to drink from every water fountain the pass throughout the day.
There are a number of supplements that will help you as well. We covered the use of fish oil supplements above, but you will find that vitamin A and vitamin B5 are helpful too. Similarly, vitamin E can be ingested or taken externally and it is terrific for your skin. Similarly, zinc can reduce acne as well, and you can find it in mushrooms, whole grains, and eggs.
Keep in mind that healthy eating will help you fight acne so take some time to really think about what you are going to eat.
